Imagine this situation: you know that your friends are coming over to your house tomorrow afternoon. They’ll probably be long gone by the time dinner is ready, but still you want to serve something that’s not your typical cake. Caprese (buffalo mozzarella and tomatos) is always an option, as are some cute little pastries – but we’ve found something that’s even better ! Have you given some thought to crostinis yet? The small bites of roasted baguette with hundreds of options in terms of toppings? No? Well, we’ve got three great suggestions for you – trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this one!
Crostini with Pumpkin, Feta and Rosemary
When we found this recipe on Pinterest, we knew that we had to try it out, but added some bacon and used rosemary instead of the thyme – right now it’s pumpkin season, and we’re all for the seasonal veggies – go pumpkin, go! It’s super easy to make and delicious as well – could it get any better?
Here’s what you’ll need:
– baguette
– pumpkin
– rosemary
– chopped bacon
– feta cheese
Simply chop the pumpkin into little pieces, put on a baking sheet, add the rosemary and the bacon and let everything bake in the oven until the pumpkin is fully cooked and the bacon looks roasted. Meanwhile, brush your sliced baguette lightly with olive oil and gently roast in a pan with rills. Before putting your pumpkin/bacon topping to your bread, mix with feta cheese. With a spoon, place little bunches of your mixture onto the crostinis.
Crostini with Strawberry, Brie, Honey and Basil
This one was our personal favorite – who knew that all those flavors would match that perfectly? Brie brings the necessary indulgence, strawberry adds the freshness, honey is responsible for the sweetness and the basil loosens it up a bit. Try it, you’ll love it!
Here’s what you’ll need:
– baguette
– brie cheese
– strawberries
– basil
– honey
Slightly roast your olive oil brushed baguette, chop the brie and put the pieces on top. Add strawberries and drizzle a little bit of honey over the crostinis. Then, add the chopped basil and season with pepper.
Crostini with Prosciutto, Cream Cheese and Grapes
This is a real classic with a twist – instead of adding tomatoes and mozarella to the prosciutto, we went for grapes and cream cheese – and guess what, sometimes the best things come from trying something new!
Here’s what you’ll need:
– baguette
– cream cheese
– grapes (red and green)
– prosciutto
Gently roast your baguettes as you did with the other 2 options. Then spread it with cream cheese and add the prosciutto and the chopped grapes. Season with salt and pepper.

Sieht sehr lecker aus! Nur mit Erdbeeren im November kann ich mich nicht anfreunden, da mag ich es lieber saisonal wie bei der Kürbisvariante :)
The strawberry crostini!! What a cool idea!
Love the blog by the way. :-9
