Editors’ Pick: Cozy Sweaters

If there’s one thing we can’t live without during fall and winter, it is definitely sweaters! There is simply nothing cozier than being wrapped up in a warm knit on the sofa, with a good book and a cup of tea. But aside from lazy Sundays at home, we also like to wear our cozy sweaters during the day, paired with more unexpected materials and patterns. We love the contrast of a chunky knit, worn with girly sequins or silky pants. For this week’s “Editors’ Pick” we show you how we both wear our sweaters, other than with some simple jeans.

Sometimes something really unexpected can turn out so good! Take Kathi’s leopard print satin pants for example, you’d think they only worked with simple shirts in black and white for summery days, but throw a deep red cableknit sweater into the mix and you have a unexpectedly stylish outfit for fall. You could wear this ensemble with some black pointy pumps, a black coat and a clutch for a dinner date, or with military boots and a big tote for a more casual look. Since the temperatures last week were still pretty mild, the look also worked with some black pony hair loafers.

Another fun way to wear knits during fall, is to pair your chunky sweaters with more delicate materials, such as sequins or lace. You could add a pair of tights and grungy biker boots to the mix, for an unexpected combination of girly vs. cool. When wearing this look, try to let the materials do most of the “talking” and go with few or no accessories. A nice watch or stud-earrings can be enough, you don’t want to go overboard with a big statement necklace that will take attention away from the sparkly skirt, or lacy shorts.
