For round #3 of our Christmas Gift Guides, we decided to dedicate another one to the girls, only this time for some very special ladies – our moms. To us, moms are always a big challenge when it comes to presents. Even though we try to show our huge appreciation for them all year round, we still want to treat our dear mamas to something a little extra special. This year, we had some pretty good ideas for our own moms (which of course we can’t share just yet, as our moms are our most loyal readers), but we also came up with a few other gifts for everyone that is still on the lookout for something special.
Cookbook: “Der Goldene Plachutta”
If your mom is anything like ours, she will LOVE this book. It includes 1500 recipes from the famous Ewald Plachutta and with 704 pages of yumminess we’re sure that there’s something for everyone. We actually both already gifted our parents with this book last year and it was a big hit!
Classy Black Suede & Leather Gloves
We think a timeless, high quality items for your mom’s closet is always a good idea. Cashmere scarves, silk blouses or suede gloves in neutral colors will be with her for years and are never out of style! And the best part, every time she wears them, she reminded of her amazing daughter (or son).
Passport Cover (And Weekend Getaway?)
Since we don’t live at home anymore, we don’t get to see our parents that often. And even though we drive home to visit every now & then, we still like to spend some extra quality time just with our mom once or twice per year. It doesn’t matter if it is a relaxing weekend at the spa or a few days spent exploring Barcelona – or even just an invitation to Vienna for that matter – “mom & me time” is ALWAYS a good idea. So if you’re planning a little trip or getaway, how about this cute passport cover as a fun voucher?
Champagne Cooler /Bucket
A little party never killed nobody – not even our moms! How stylish would this champagne bucket be for a summer garden party? This gift has also been tried & tested by us (a mom’s birthday last year) and was definitely a bit hit. For a little something extra, place a bottle of her favorite champagne inside the cooler.
Personalized “Kids” Bracelets
One of our moms has a bracelet with little pendants attached, where the kids’ names and birthdays (backside) are each engraved on one pendant. This way she always has her most precious belongings with her, and it also makes for a very personal and thoughtful gift. This would be perfect if you have siblings and gave it as a group present. Simply pick a pretty bracelet and have the personalized pendants done & attached at your local jeweler.
Magazine Subscription
This is actually a great idea for moms and dads (incase you’re still on the lookout for Mr. Papa). Pre-order a 1-year magazine subscription for her favorite magazine and wrap a few other magazines nicely for you mom to open on Christmas Eve. This will be a present to bring her joy all year long.

I loved the idea of a personalized bracelet!!! My mom has a necklace with her and my dad’s pictures in it and she loves it!
