With the festive season ahead of us, dinners at your home or the ones of your family and friends will be kind of a common and returning thing during the next few weeks. To spice up the boring tablescapes a bit (without too much work) we came up with a very traditional, yet stylish idea: let’s add some place cards to our table! Aside from adding a touch of glam, they also break up the same old sitting structures that became a habit and can provide for unexpected conversations between people that usually never sit next to each other. And the best thing is yet to come: they are so easy to make, it will only cost you 5 minutes and a few cent to prepare them!
Here’s what you’ll need:
– small twigs from your garden (or rosemary)
– a knitting needle
– structured white paper
We decided to print our tablecards so that they would all have the same size and font. We went with picmonkey.com for creating the frame and used the font “Mossy”, if you want the same look for your place cards. After printing the cards and cutting along the frame, we made two holes with the needle, but don’t go the extra mile to measure the distances, nobody will notice the difference of maybe 1-2 mm. After that, cut a little twig so it will fit trough both holes; place the card on top of your plate and that’s about it! For an extra touch of glamour you could also give the twigs a quick paint job with golden spray paint.

Wow, richtig coole Idee :) Ganz simpel, aber trotzdem was besonderes. Wird Weihnachten gleich gemacht!
This is such a cute idea!!! And the little touch of spraying them with gold or silver paint would make for even more glamorous and “dressed up” table cards!
