Last week was filled with events revolving around the MQ Vienna Fashion Week and we were busy attending as many as possible. In between all the fashion week related events, we also made our way to the “Local Heroes – Streetstyle Photography” event at FASHIONATION last Thursday. It is not too common that we absolutely fall for an advertising campaign, but when it is done as well as the Local Heroes, we love it! The concept behind the collaboration with “real people” is easy: take 3 cities – Berlin, Stuttgart & Vienna – pick stylish, creative and most importantly local personalities and take some streetstyle shots of them. Easy enough, right? But still pretty darn cool!
FASHIONATION is the designer fashion department at Peek & Cloppenburg, where you can find anything from Moschino Cheap & Chic, to RED by Valentino or Mathew Williamson (who we adore!). For their F/W 2013 “Local Heroes” campaign they picked local stylists, DJs, artists, etc. and put them into some stylish outfits, which where then photographed in a streetstyle-look.
What do you guys think about brands collaborating with “real people” – we feel like it is becoming more and more common and we’re quite smitten with the concept. It feels more personal and relatable when we see people just like us (meaning: skip the size zero) modeling for big brands.
Who recognizes the lady above? Miss Jessica Weiss of Journelles stood in front of the camera as one of the Berlin locals!
