For this week’s “Bubbly Friday” we decided to go with a classic, but added our own twist! Your typical Bellini is made with prosecco and peach purée, but strawberries are also common and a big hit in our books. Since we currently can’t leave the market without grabbing a tray of fresh strawberries, we decided to go with the berry version. And to spice things up a bit we threw in a few leaves of basil – because let’s face it, any drink with basil in it just seems so much more professional, right?
What you’ll need:
– fresh strawberries
– 1 tsp brown sugar
– 5 leaves of fresh basil
– a bottle of chilled prosecco
In a blender, mix the washed strawberries, brown sugar and basil leaves until a smooth purée is formed. Carefully add about 1 tbsp of the purée to each of your champagne flutes. Then fill with the chilled prosecco. Add a fresh strawberry to the rim before your serve the drinks.
